小暑，是農(nóng)歷二十四節(jié)氣之第十一個(gè)節(jié)氣，夏天的第五個(gè)節(jié)氣。每年7月7日或8日視太陽到達(dá)黃經(jīng)105°時(shí)為小暑。

The Slight Heat,the fifth solar term in summer,is the eleventh solar term in the lunar calendar. The Slight Heat occurs on July 7 or 8 every year when the sun reaches longitude 105°.

小暑為小熱，意指天氣開始炎熱，但還沒到最熱。小暑過后，正逢“三伏天”的頭伏熱浪襲來，高溫、高濕天氣將頻繁出現(xiàn)，因此俗話有云“小暑大暑，上蒸下煮”。

"Xiao Shu" means "Little Heat", which indicatesthat the weather begins hotter and hotter after this term. The first-period heatwave of "dog days" hits.Hot and humid weather will occur frequently, so the saying goes that “Slight Heat and Major Heat, steaming at the top and boiling at the bottom”.

中國古人將小暑分為三候：“一候溫風(fēng)至；二候蟋蟀居宇；三候鷹始鷙?！?/p>

Ancient Chinesedivided the Slight Heatinto three periods: “one is when the wind carries heat waves; The second is when the crickets leave the fields and go to the corner of the courtyard to escape the heat; The third is when the eagles often fly high in the cool air.”

過去民間有小暑“食新”習(xí)俗，即在小暑過后嘗新米，農(nóng)民將新割的稻谷碾成米后，做好飯供祀五谷大神和祖先，然后人人嘗新酒等。

There was a folk custom of "eating new" in the Slight Heat, whichisto taste new rice after the Slight Heat. After the peasants mill the newly cut rice into rice, they preparerice for offering sacrificesto the five-grain gods and ancestors, and then everyone tastes the new wine.
